The Malawi Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Health Ministries Department teaches health messages to church members and any interested persons. These messages are aimed at helping people to live healthy lives. Healthy Adventists would witness for Christ effectively. Our messages are to help the spreading of the Gospel and are not the Gospel. Founded on the Bible teaching that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we believe that we need to take care of our bodies, for God is interested in us being healthy.

The Adventist Health messages and policies have these Three Foundations:
1. The Bible
2. The Spirit of Prophecy
3. Evidence-based peer-reviewed Science.
In spreading the health messages and in rendering Healthcare the principle of Comprehensive Health Ministries- that is, ‘ Meeting the needs of the people, practically, by demonstrating God’s love and compassion’
Through this principle, all the fundamental teachings indicate Christ as our example, and love is the leading motivation.
It is therefore imperative to love people more than the health messages in all circumstances.
